Is shot placement Important

It is the point of impact on the animal where the hunter is aiming to hit.
Being able to master the hunting weapon in order to shoot as accurately as possible with the correct shot placement on the vitals of the animal, is one of the most important skills a hunter must master to be successfully in his ability to make fast effective kill. The success of a hunt totally depends on shot placement and skill of the hunter. There is nothing worse than having a very successfully stalk and then missing or even worse wounding a animal. Wounding animals will only cost you money and make the other animals more "wild" resulting in a more difficult hunt next time, and in the case of a wounded animal you will spend valuable hunting time tracking for hours and even days.

Location of Vitals

It is the point of impact on the animal where the hunter is aiming to hit.
Being able to master the hunting weapon in order to shoot it as accurately as possible into the vitals of the animal, is one of the most important skills a hunter must master to be successfully in his ability to make fast effective kill

It is important to aim for the heart and lungs to ensure a successfully kill, the heart and lungs is a bigger target than the head or neck with the best chance of success.
Head and neck shots result in very little damaged meat, but it destroys a good trophy and is always a risky shot. The head is also the most moveable part of the antelopes body and the brain (target) is small and there for it is advised to aim for the body's vital area's(heart and lungs)

The vitals of an african antelope is located between the front legs depending on the species, some species hearts are located further back then others.
It is safe to say that when aiming at an animal from the broad side the heart will be located on the shoulder of the animal.
